Who We Are
We are a registered Non-profit Charitable Organization under the registration: DSD/17/86/02/23423, founded by Sr. Itaclaria Ndumi Thomas to respond to the needs of people with mental health problems. It is in accordance to Pope Francis’s appeal to overcome the stigma that brands mental illness and to ensure that the culture of community prevails over the mentality of rejection.
Mentally sick people are on the increase the most vulnerable of which are women who end up in the streets being abused sexually and physically by uncaring passers by. It is unfortunate that they no longer have human dignity and live like wild animals eating from dustbins, sleeping in the open streets, under the rains, and exposed to dangers like wild animals and diseases.
After 20 years of Social Work Practice and as a Missionary in different countries, Sr. Itaclaria recognizes that most people who are depressed and turn to addictions and even prostitution leading to mental disorders majorly lack peace and love in their daily lives. The foundation comes to the res-cue of those who are mentally sick and those who are exposed to conditions that may affect their peace of mind.
